PETRIT HALILAJ

The basis for Petrit Halilaj’s artistic work is the young man’s life history, largely defined by the events and consequences of the Kosovo war from 1998 to 1999. In installations, drawings and films, he addresses the experiences of this period and examines with great empathy themes such as homeland, memory and identity. Thus, Halilaj’s work, which seems like a materialisation of the world of storytellers, is always generally applicable in some way, so that it speaks to you, the viewer, and moves you – regardless of its references to recent south-eastern Europe history.
