JULIAN GÖTHE

Bridging the gap between old and new, as achieved by Julian Göthe with his wall installation “Interspace (the things that concern you)” developed specially for the “Fürstlich Fürstenbergische Collections”, could not be more impressive.
The work made of black cords, which allows abstract forms to be identified just as much as figurative elements, that dominates all of the stairways of the building and transforms it into a stage on which the work promotes viewer of the work to an actor in it.
Goethe’s work only facilitates a new sensitivity to the spaces of the building, it also raises awareness of its structure by accentuating and also contradicting it.
