DAVID ADAMO

The recent work by the artist David Adamo, born in Rochester, New York in 1979, can be categorised as sculpture. He creates various structures using solid wooden blocks, processes the wood handles of axes, hammers and walking sticks until they are no longer usable, or forms everyday objects from bronze, clay or synthetic porcelain, such as shuttlecocks or heaters. Dance and performance art serve as inspiration for the artist. Accordingly, the spatial presentation of his works is of fundamental importance to Adamo: Through conflicting oppositions or the specific placement of his objects, the artist transforms exhibition spaces into stage-like arrangements that seem as unusual as they do poetic.
